How to track college assignments without missing deadlines

Deadlines slip when they live in several course pages, calendars, and notes. The fix is a single assignment list plus a short weekly planning habit.

1 · Capture once

Record every assignment when you first see it.

Add the course, due date, estimated effort, and the very next action. “Research sources” is easier to start than “write history paper.” Put exams, readings, labs, and small online quizzes in the same system.

2 · Review weekly

Plan from the calendar, not from memory.

Once a week, look two weeks ahead. Move the next actions for major assignments onto specific days, leaving room for class, work, and recovery.

3 · Reset daily

Choose today’s realistic next steps.

Pick one to three academic priorities each morning. Mark work complete as you go, then capture new deadlines before you close your course portal.

Use a planner that connects courses, assignments, exams, and study time.
